Over 50% Anganwadis (out of total 300) in Karjat tribal block DO NOT have electricity.
From 2021 to 2024, Samaaveshi renovated and transformed 15 Anganwadis aimed at ensuring improved infrastructure and access to preschool/foundational learning opportunities for rural children in Karjat tribal block near Mumbai. The project entails two designs:
a) Smart Anganwadi transformation (180W solar power set + electrical wiring + 2 lights & 2 fans + WASH facilities + classroom furniture + 32" smart TV and e-learning content + early learning materials + wall and roof repair, painting & child-friendly drawing etc.) costing Rs 200,000/- (Two lakh rupees) per Anganwadi.
b) Solar Anganwadis (180W solar power system + 2 lights & 2 fans + 32" smart TV), costing Rs 50,000/- (Fifty thousand rupees) per Anganwadi.
